Will this course give me all I need to practice hypnotism and hypnotic coaching in Rhode Island, Massachusetts or Connecticut (aka Greater Rhode Island)?
Yes. You will find the practice of hypnotism will be a lifelong learning process. But you will have the skills you need to start practicing on day one.
How long is the course?
This is a 75 contact hour class with 25 hours of homework and practice. It includes 14 Saturdays (9am-4pm). The classes are in three “semesters” with a week off to allow some flexibility with your Saturdays.
Why not just read books or take an online course?
The way to learn is by doing, practicing on real people. There is no substitute for actually working with people from intake, suggestibility tests, inducing hypnotic trance, depth testing and implanting hypnotic suggestions: this is a hands on course where you will learn by doing from the very first session.
Who created the course content?
The fundamentals of this course were created by the National Guild of Hypnotists. As a Certified Instructor, I am required to deliver the core curriculum; however, I will supplement the course with my own experience working with clients in Rhode Island and Massachusetts and provide free a copy of my book The Hypnotic Coach: Combine hypnosis and personal coaching to create a life you love as an additional text.
Upon completion of the course, you will receive a pre-paid year’s professional membership as a Certified Hypnotist or Hypnotherapist (if you are already a licensed mental health counselor).
What is the cost of the program?
The total cost is $2150: however, if you apply and pay the $500 deposit (of which $150 is non-refundable after 1/15/20) for this class you will receive a $300 early enrollment discount promotional discount so the total tuition will be $1850 provided you pay the deposit and are accepted to the class prior to Halloween. You may pay your deposit online with credit card by clicking here
Are there any other texts to buy? Hidden costs?
Not a dime. Everything is included in your tuition from the workbooks to your diploma. Plus upon completion of the course you get a full year’s pre-paid membership in the National Guild of Hypnotists.
What is the advantage of certification by the National Guild of Hypnotists?
When you are certified by the National Guild of Hypnotists you will have the world’s largest organization of professional hypnotists behind you. You will participate in an open forum for a free exchange of ideas and latest hypnotism techniques. You may receive referrals through the guild’s database. You will have access to educational and training materials. You will receive the Hypno-Gram four times a year and Journal of Hypnotism four times a year with articles on techniques and the business of hypnotism. And you will have a chance to attend the annual Guild 3-day training Conference in Marlboro Massachusetts each year. People travel to Marlboro from all over the world to attend this conference. We are fortunate in Greater Rhode Island (RI, MA and CT) that it is within a short drive.
Are there educational requirements to take the course?
No.
Will everyone pass the course?
Certification is not guaranteed. However,if you attend the classes and do the homework you can be confident that you will pass and be certified. There is a final examination, but if you are a poor test-taker and are doing well performing the work you will be given a chance to sit the exam again.
How much do Certified Hypnotists earn in Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut?
The average hour hypnosis session in Rhode Island is $115. I conducted a national survey with over 300 hypnotists responding and nationally fees range from $35 an hour to $500. Each practice is different. How much you will earn depends on a variety of factors including the markets you will serve, other background and your own self-esteem.
What if I am already a Licensed Mental Health Counselor?
This program is perfect for you. It is a chance to add hypnotism to your skills to accelerate your success with existing clients as well as open new business possibilities.
Do I have to have been hypnotized to take this course?
Absolutely not, though you will go into hypnosis regularly once you start the course as you work with other students.
When and where will the course take place?
Class starts Saturday January 25th, 2020 and runs weekly through May 2nd (no class February 22 or March 28th).
It is 100 hour course with 75 classroom hours and 25 hours assigned homework and practice.
What about support after the course?
I have started a monthly support group for Greater Rhode Island Hypnosis graduates only – we meet once a month at a location in Providence. Here you will have a chance to share your successes and concerns and network with colleagues who are also starting practices or adding hypnotism to their work as therapists. There is no fee for this support. It is FREE for graduates. You can – of course – hire me personally for in-depth supervision or business consultation at my regular rate of $175 an hour (and I encourage you to do to to accelerate your success) – but the monthly meetings are free.
